As the U.S. surpasses President Biden's goal of 100 million vaccinations in 58 days, variants threaten to hinder progress in hotspot areas. With spring break in full swing, colleges are on high alert.
Another excellent review, Benjy! Glad to hear about Moderna's development of a refrigerator-stable version. That will likely make this new technology financially more viable for other diseases like influenza, and for the likely boosters we'll need for the variants. The news about the AZ vaccine's lack of efficacy for the South African variant is indeed worrisome. Any news about whether the other vaccines are effective against that and other variants? That is my greatest worry, that after all the vaccinations, we'll have to close back down again until rejiggered booster vaccines are available. And with so much of the world unvaccinated -- and likely to remain so for the next year -- we're likely going to see many more variants.
